MS Teams – Login to the system

There are several Office 365 environments operated at Charles University. You access each of them under a different login name (account), so you need to log in to the “correct” one. Depending on the license used, it is possible to connect to two MS Teams environments.

Always pay attention to the environment in which the teaching takes place. Teachers can use both environments for their teaching:
a.) You log in to the university environment office365.cuni.cz by logging in osobnicislo@cuni.cz and then logging in to CAS.
b.) To enter the faculty environment (applies to FF, PedF, FaF, LFHK, PřF, FSV, FHS) use the instructions on the website of the relevant faculty.

  • If your faculty has a faculty installation of MS Office 365 / MS Teams, you can either use the faculty installation or you must log out of the faculty environment before logging in to the university environment.

Sign in to the Office 365-wide environment

1. Click on the link that you received by e-mail or is part of a website or document (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). You will be prompted to sign in to Office 365.

2. Enter your login name in the form number_persons@cuni.cz (eg 12345678@cuni.cz). You can find your person’s number (UKČO) on the employee’s ID card under the photo.

3. You will be redirected to CAS. Enter your login details here as usual.

4. If the “Stay logged in?” Dialog box appears, check “Do not show again” and press Yes (if you press No, the login will not be affected).

5. If everything went smoothly, you’ll see a shared document or folder, a SharePoint website, or one of the Office 365 applications.

In case of trouble

6. If you don’t see the content you want or see something different than you expected, click the icon with the initials of your name or your profile photo in the upper right corner and verify that you’re in the “right” Office 365 environment.

7. If you see an account with a domain other than @ cuni.cz, then log out.

8. Switch to another account.

9. And continue again from our first point. However, if the problem persists, try another browser you don’t normally use (eg Chrome, Firefox, Explorer, Edge, etc.). If that doesn’t help, contact your nearest IT support.

Registration for the university-wide MS Teams

1. Enter the address office365.cuni.cz in the address bar of the web browser

2. You will be redirected to CAS. Enter your login details here as usual.

3. If the “Stay logged in?” Dialog box appears, check “Do not show again” and press Yes (if you press No, the login will not be affected).

4. If everything went smoothly, you’ll see the Office 365 start page.

5. Click the Teams icon (or the icon of another desired application) and wait for it to start.
